In-Person Fitness Classes
For older adults of all ages and abilities
Our professional trainers help you gain strength, balance, flexibility and stamina. You will be challenged, but never pushed beyond your capability. You may be surprised at how quickly you can expand the range and quality of what you can do each week.
A CHOICE OF CLASSES
Fit For Good in-person fitness classes are best suited to older adults who are able to walk without aid and do not have extreme mobility issues/underlying health conditions that would require specialist attention. Depending on the venue, we offer a range of classes for you to choose from.
Strength and Fitness Classes
Focusing on functional movements to enhance your everyday life, these are our main classes. They are suitable for all fitness levels, from beginners to those with years of experience. The classes include strength exercises to help improve and maintain bone mineral density, core stability exercises for midline stabilisation and protection of the spine, balance work for fall prevention, postural work for bodily alignment, mobility work for joint health, and cardiovascular conditioning for heart health.
At some venues we offer an advanced version of these classes for those with more experience.
Strength and Flexibility Classes
Involving a series of static and dynamic stretches, these classes will help you loosen tight muscles, strengthen weak joints and prevent age and exercise related injuries.
As much of the session is spent on the floor, participants are required to be able to get up and down from the floor safely so please bring a mat.
Full Body Stretching Classes
These are gentle class that will help loosen tight muscles, strengthen weak joints and help to prevent age and exercise related injuries. During the course of the class you will move through a series of stretches that cover the entire body, with a particular focus on common problem areas such as the spine, knees and hips.
Some of the class will take place on the floor so please bring a mat.
If you would like to use weights for any of these classes, please bring dumbells, cans of beans, bottles of water or whatever works for you - no glass containers. Also, bring a bottle of water to ensure that you stay hydrated throughout.

In some cases, Fit For Good trainers are able to offer one-to-one personal training. This can be useful to help with specific concerns before, or in conjunction with, attending regular classes. Please contact us for more information.
